Hurray! I got accepted into University for my preparatory year! It’s pretty hard not to be accepted in that program to be fair, though I’m officially a university student starting in the Fall. Yay! Another step towards my microbiology and human microbiome dream. Happy dance!

I nailed another examen and will be nailing another one tomorrow. This condensed term is so much fun. I really enjoy high-intensity learning to stay motivated. This two months, six hours a day pace is just right for me. Even in massage therapy, I took the condensed route and loved it. I find that I performed best with fully immersed bursts than breaks to recover. We all have our rhythm, and even if it’s difficult to manage at times, I have to embrace how my brain and body work.

It was a day of burst and breaks, as a matter of fact. My energy levels were more sporadic today, but I simply embraced my cadence. Following where my physiology takes me is so much easier than confining it to fit an ideal. Having learned to function with my highs and lows has massively improved my quality of life the amount I get accomplished in a day. To wake up and write, draw or act (when possible) is so much better than toss and turn because I’m supposed to sleep for another two hours. Then, when my squirrels had enough space to run around, it’s easier to calm down and take a nap in the afternoon to catch up on my missing two hours of rest. I still have to be careful not to over nap, though trying to force a state I’m not naturally in is more counterproductive. Vice versa, trying to stay awake to push through a task will only make my work sloppy. Getting the necessary rest is the reasonable thing to do and when my schedule is well managed, I always have a buffer to finish what sits on a deadline in time.

My newfound nerdism has helped a lot in doing homework in advance to give me a comfy buffer. On that note, let me advance on my English readings. “A streetcar named Desire” is a great read so far.

Gratitude journal:

I’m grateful for beautiful sunsets.
