Another kind of Christmas Eve
Change is the one constant we can count on in this universe. My carefully crafted plans for the past month had to be postponed due to a family emergency on my friend’s side. It’s unfortunate and I send them all my support in thoughts. It didn’t come unexpectedly since the dad of my friend was in and out of the hospital for the past year due to a degenerative disease. We were prepared and a plan B was in place since nothing can be set in stone during this pandemic. Nevertheless, I wish them some comfort during this Holiday season with everything that has been going on in the world.
With this new schedule opening, I indulged in some more kitchen experiments and a comfy nap on the couch. Calm and relaxing is my favourite kind of Christmas. My rebellious soul savours this against-the-norm Holiday non-celebration.
As prepared as I was to deflect temptations, no ninja rebuttal was needed and I was perfectly on track with my dietary objectives today. Tomorrow I will be having dinner with my landlord and her other tenant but they are both health-conscious so I hope yesterday’s advice will serve my readers this year as I didn’t need it for myself.
I’m not completely out of the woods, my celebration has only been postponed and life will take a twisted pleasure in sending me more challenges. I escaped the heat tonight, but I know it will wait just around the corner — hence why I don’t pre-plan my cheat days. They will come alright, it’s only a matter of days. When faced with decadence, I will pick my clan depending on what’s more promising, salty with fewer carbs or carby and less fat. It will all depend on my mood of the moment to determine what’s most worthy of paying the price for.
