April full… so full!
Huh… Oh my god, I ate way too much. I chose to go for an hour’s walk and my reward was to go to one of my favourite restaurants for which I had a gift card. I started tracking my macros again since I’ve integrated the author Shawn Stevenson’s nutrition advice and wanted to achieve a proper protein intake as it has been low since I’ve been trying to be more eco-conscious in my grocery purchases. I have a wonderful steak with mushrooms and tuna maki rolls which was perfect till a little demon on my shoulder whispered: ”dessert”.
Using distorted information from Shawn’s book, “Eat Smarter”, I justified my bad sugar intake first: because it’s better to eat carbs at the end of the day. Second: because I had a long walk prior to my meal and was going to walk the same distance to get back home. All this while I was eating alone and the waiter didn’t even suggest dessert. This was me pulling an April fool’s prank on myself.
I’m not even sure how I’m managing to write this since I’m drowsy from a long walk and a massive food coma. Outside of my dietary excess, it was a calm mildly productive day. Entering the new month peacefully though a little anxiously since school will start in May. All I can do is prepare as best as I can and take it one baby step at a time.
P.S. On the side of loneliness, my best friend and I agreed we need to communicate more often since I’m no longer caught up in a romantic relationship. The few text messages we exchange brighten my days.
