Recharge time

In a familiar place, with a calm environment under the care of my mother, my body decided to let go and rest. I’ve been sleeping a fair bit today though it was greatly needed. As much as I love L, getting used to his snoring and his early rise made it difficult for me to sleep sufficiently. Being alone in a comfortable bed and in a quiet house and neighbourhood is a blessing.

My last apartment in Alberta was by the main road where motorbikes started passing at all hours of the day in April, giving me constant noise. The diminution of my sleep quality back then got amplified by the stress of final exams and my rushed move across the country. I had to push myself really hard to get everything done. Reconnecting with L was marvellous, but the passion of our new love did make my nights more active. Then followed the introduction to his social circle, which included me immediately, increasing my social activities by 200%. Not to forget the two back-to-back nights of driving to receive my furniture two weeks ago. It’s been a hectic few months.

I can confidently say, “I’m crashing at my mom’s,” because I’ve just dived in bed right away. Luckily, my mother knows me well, and she’s used to seeing me after my sprints of to-do. She reads my blog every day, which has kept her in the loop of my activities and has offered the tranquillity of her home to help me recover. It feels wonderful, and I will take advantage of this gift right now. Good night everyone!

I’m grateful for moms.
