Help on the journey
After a great night of sleep, and a slow morning, I made my way to school to start reviewing my highschool math. Then followed my first math tutoring session with my retired engineer friend, then finished with my online counseling session. I had reserved a private library room for this full evening spent on video conferences.
My tutor friend helped me correct some errors in my equation resolution, and we are further fine tuning our online set up. For him, it’s an opportunity to keep busy now that he’s retired while I benefit from his knowledge to move forward in my studies. He may even take on a few more students, but for now, he’s getting use to the process. In many ways, it helps us both to grow. I’m particularly happy to have him as my accountability buddy to make sure I tackle my highschool math revision.
When it comes to counseling, my new therapist and I are forging greater bounds. I like her open style where she discloses aspects of her life, and create parallels between our experiences. Her best skill is how she manages to picks up on all my accomplishments, and make me realize that I’ve done a lot. Her ability to find the gold in the seemingly ordinary makes all the difference. Another thing is also bringing us closer since today; our romantic relationship difficulties with men. The fact that she’s not impartial to my history makes me feel truly heard, and understood. I very much need my counselor to be invested in what I say, and I know she is. It feels wonderful.
I’m back in the bus with a soothed heart, and a positive mind. New stepping stones have been layed on my path, and I’m happily bouncing forward ahead.
