Invested with a dear friend
I’ve accepted that it happens here and there that I forget to write my blog. I fell asleep with the comforting goodnight wishes of my best friend last night, and had a wonderful restful night.
Improving my sleep cycle is my current health objective so I’m not going to beat myself up for dropping the ball of my daily blogging. I did prioritize my self-care after class yesterday making sure I was clear minded before studying. My understanding and retention levels definitely skyrocket with a relaxed brain. I also noticed that a big part of my difficulties retaining what is said in class is due to the terrible acoustic of the room both my current classes are held in. Listening to my audio recordings made it abundantly clear that it’s a challenge. I need to stop a rewind all the time.
Optimizing my learning circumstances is something I need to bring more focus on. I think I may need glasses;I may push to have more online courses for better audio with less distractions; Also, learning to function with my physical and mental abilities at forty demands trial and error.
I’m comfortable viewing this first year as my “figuring things out" period. From navigating heavy bureaucratic structures (and province), to discovering the current highschool curriculum which is much more dense than twenty years ago, and balancing my health at a changing stage of life, that’s a plate I consider full. Other people may be able to take on more, but that’s what I chose is good enough.
