Thinking out of the box still needs containment
It was a brilliant start to the year and productivity abounded today. I’m happy to have tackled all of my goals but my energy level now is bottoming out. I’m not even sure how I can put together coherent thoughts at the moment. I apologize in advance for any potential incoherence in my discourse. One of my great unplanned discoveries of the day is this Taiwanese black bean powder that tastes wonderful compared to the North American black bean flour I had found previously. I’ve been fond of the bean noodles I’ve integrated into my pantry lately and I was literally contemplating blending them to a powder to get better baking results, but this new great tasting black bean product that is originally designed to be a health drink mix may do an even better job. My excitement is palpable — though I need to remain aware of my priorities to allocate reasonable time when getting lost in a mad science baking frenzy. Creativity can only produce impactful results if properly channelled.
While preparing for my studies, I need to put together a sustainable cooking schedule that will liberate more time for my academic endeavours. My challenge resides in controlling my culinary urges to contain my flamboyant chef imagination. My moments of inspiration tend to leave a trail of dirty dishes behind that takes way too long to clean. Also, I get completely absorbed by my experiments losing track of the hours that pass. I need to continue pursuing my culinary research with more structure from now on. I can’t believe that I, the rebellious artistic nomad, am talking of following a schedule. A lot of things have changed since last year, me included, yet what drives this new perspective on my daily activities is a profound desire for meaningful success. More than ever, I want to push myself in the vulnerable space of investing myself fully in something I truly value, putting me at arm’s reach of potential devastating failure. Between adrenaline from fear and the calm of self-confidence, I’m walking on a tightrope of hopes.
The mantra for the upcoming weeks will be: prioritize, organize and systemize. Now having a goal larger than anything I’ve attempted before, past despised chores seem like a mere interruption on the path to my enhanced productivity.
