Learning curve vertical climb
Here we go again! Gotta use those brain muscles to the max because this algebra class is hefty. It’s very well made, well structured, and comprehensive, but hard. Luckily, I’m pulling all my resources together to figure it out.
As I’m becoming more alert to cues from students, teacher assistants, and teachers, I can more quickly figure out where to find the support I need online for further explanations. Today, a student shared his homework during the study help session, and he was using a delightful format in clear steps. I knew right there, and then that it was a structure created to help students, and that ot most likely could be found on line. A few clicks later, the main site I’ve been doing my math revision on ladt semester had it. Bingo! My problem solving template is acquired. I managed all that while keeping up with the ongoing online meeting. Zillenials are fast smart cookies, and they fly through various technological tools to find answers. I’ll never be as quick as then. I wasn’t born with a tablet in my hands, and I’m mot naturally inclined to technology, but I’m improving.
Talking about smart cookies, wow do kids now, and days perform! My generation thought that it was cool to be rebellious by failing your classes. It was such an emotionally immature era. Mediocrity was the norm, and the insecure ruled. A lot of people are making fun of the term “woke”, but this is no exageration. Zillenials IQ, and EQ is incredibly high. They incredibly adaptive to the virtual world, and they can easily size what matters, and what doesn’t. If they seem to ignore certain aspects of day-to-day life, it’s for a reason. They’re aware of it, and conscious of the impacts. We are not to be fooled by their seemingly uncaring attitude. They perceive, analyze, and immediately respond, that it’s a response we comprehend or not.
I’m glad I’m in university with these young wits, and not my own generation. I’m learning at a faster speed, with a more open minded environment. This isn’t my first time admiring my cadets, and I will continue to do so. Exploring how their brains work, and adopting some of those behaviours does help me grow. Catching momentum with them is a very satisfying challenge. And no, you won’t find me trying to out sexy them with posted pictures on social media. First, I despise image, and vidéo based social medias, second, you have to recognize what is age appropriate. Intellectually racing with the youngsters is a classy way to mingle.
