Magnesium tango

Since I started my new medication,my digestion has been less regular. At first, I was very happy things had slowed down since my sensitivities tended to activate things more often than not. Unfortunately, in the passed two weeks, I experienced increased delays in my daily habits, and chose to remediate to the situation with a well-known mineral: magnesium.

Yes, you’re not mistaking, I’m writing a post on my digestion. This is after all my daily diary. My life having dramatically stabilized in the past 3 months, the lack of unexpected events leaves me with only mundane details to talk about. I’m not publishing to build a following or attempt to make money, this is my personal growth exercise of consistently writing everyday. Therefore, I will write about what I so choose. With usually 2 reads per post I don’t have much to loose, and I declare this with a big smile. This blog is for me, and fame is not my quest. Also, I adore most of my 2 fans which consists of my mother, and someone else I’m not quite sure of. If I’m interesting to that second reader than I’m glad I bring something to that someone.

Now that I’ve justified myself mostly to myself to post about my digestive health, I will continue. I had been aware of the impact of magnesium on my bowls a decade ago as it was convinced by a friend of mine to try it for it’s health benefits. What works for one doesn’t work for another. I learned that the hard way. Currently, I already have a high fiber diet, and did take some psyllium husk to see if it could help, but in vain. I also consistently hydrate well there for I had to figure out a new venue to improve passage.

Very carefully, I meticulously measured my dosage, and got no noticeable result yesterday. This morning, I decided to take a full supplement instead of a cut in a half one. It worked… a little too well. I think there may have been a cumulative effect, still, lesson learned. Magnesium is NOT an option, no matter what. The remainder of my supplement will go in bath salts eventually so my purchase isn’t lost. To be fair, magnesium citrate is not expensive at all, but I like to use what I buy out of concern for the environment, and to avoid overconsumption.

I’m now resting, and didn’t do as much of what I wanted to do today. I’m not late on any homework, and I will be fully recovered in the morning. I’m off to bed now, and tomorrow will be better. A lesson previously learned was re-studied, and reassessed; magnesium is not my friend.
