Taking shape slowly
--
My apartment is coming together piece by piece as I take my time to set it up as conveniently and artistically as I wish. It’s my place. I have no roommate and I will make it my very own. I’ve never been fond of nor comfortable with conventional furniture and I have once more, since 2012, the opportunity to create my own system with my carefully selected items. It’s time to let my ingenuity blossom and test my new organization ideas.
My mind is bursting with concepts and it’s hard to decide which ones will be implemented in this first stage of my solo habitation. Every time I’ve planned something throughout the years, life very inconveniently decided that she wanted something else and my endeavours would drift. Without too much firmness, I’m visualizing an outcome but I won’t be investing large sums nor spend countless hours to set something glorious till I’m confident that destiny won’t sidetrack my study project.
Between a Hong Kong style bamboo scaffolding shelving and art wall to a window lounging bed over cupboards or a desk to multipurpose, my imagination is restless at inventing the next best thing for my comfort. If all goes well this year, I will invest in a vertical indoor herb garden structure and turn my meditation/dining/studying/chilling area into an inverted patio by the glass sliding doors.
I’ve enjoyed giving thought to my little household experiments and have spent a fair amount of early morning moments to conceptualize what could be possible. It has been fun and maybe a little too much as I’ve slid out of properly journaling my food. The cat is out of the bag… Yes, I’ve been less disciplined in the past 2 weeks and I will have to bring back my focus on my health commitments in the upcoming days. Time to find a new equilibrium and rhythm in MY place.
