The last of the first
I can’t believe my first semester is coming to an end. Today was the last class of my first chemistry course, and I’m already nostalgic. I will be seeing my excellent teacher again next semester, but this mountain that seemed impossible to climb at the beginning of the semester is now behind me. It’s unbelievable!
With a lot of adjustments, and reducing my schedule to what I could handle, I’ve completed the first mile stone of a ten years goal. It was a rough start, but my determination was there. It doesn’t matter how long it takes, I want to be in school to achieve the knowledge I’ve been hoping to acquire all my life. It still feels surreal that I’m actually living my dream. The best part is that it feels that I’m were I was supposed to be all along. I’m among the fellow nerds I’ve admired, and with them, we will bring positive changes in the world.
My classmates are tired though joyous. We all know we accomplished something the majority of the population cannot. Science is a special cup of tea that most find overwhelming. It’s an intimidating subject without a doubt, but it has its charms once you get familiar with the jargon. The true quality of science studies is what it eventually allows you to do. Today, my chemistry teacher made nylon with two liquids right infront of our eyes. This ability to control matter at will is awesome.
With a rejoicing heart, I’m off to bed before the last class of biology of my sciences preparatory certificate. That one too was a hefty course, but one tiny step at a time, I made it to the end. I can look back, and take pride in these first achievements of my academic journey.
