My last class of chemistry of solutions was memorable, I will never forget it as I’m still laughing at an hilarious situation that occurred between my teacher, and I. The whole class did appreciate our ridiculous moment, and it helped eliviate the stress of facing our first final exam in a week.
It was another night where my mind, and body decided that 2 am was a perfectly good time to be awake. This time I did some chemistry homework because I wasn’t goin to waist that time tossing, and turning. I did manage to go back to bed for an hour or so before school. Regardless of the fatigue, thankfully I accomplished a lot.
Now, let me explain that moment that got my class bursting out into laughter, and have me wipe a few tears of good bully laugh. We were practicing calculating variations of energy of chemical reactions, and the constant for one of the equation is the letter “Q.” It so happens the in French, letter “Q” is pronounced exactly as another word. I raised my hand to ask where I should integrate the information of the gases pressure in the equation. Without skipping a beat, my teacher replied: “you enter it in the “Q.”
The word “Q” so happens to sound the same is a word designating ones bottom. Yes, my teacher told me pretty much word for word: “it enters your ass.” I tried my best. Bit my lips as much as I could, and held my breath, but it was useless. After a second and a half of trying to keep it cool, the juvenile goof in me exploded in laughter along with everyone else in the class. The teacher tactfully laught along, and clarified that he was talking of the equation constant. As I wipped my tears of lauther, he teasingly said joked about the difficulties of chemistry calculations. We all needed this moment of stress relief; gosh did I needed to laugh.
After this nice day, I came home, and fell asleep right after eating dinner. No, I didn’t go to the gym, I know. But tomorrow, I have no excuses. Luckily, I’m tired enough to know that I won’t wake up at 2 am tonight. Also, I can go to bed with the peace of mind knowing that if I’m not sure where to enter some values in my calculations, I can just shove it up my… (childish giggles)
